One of the classes that I am taking this term in my Fashion Management program is Entrepreneurship - and it is definitely one of my most favourite classes to date!
Although the class isn't too structured around the subject of fashion, I find it so interesting because of all the different entrepreneurial ventures we get to discuss. As a Commerce graduate with a love for fashion and a desire to make it big with a fashion/design related business venture of my own one day, I find this class very practical and inspiring.
Which brings me to today's lesson. Each week a select group of students are required to present an interesting entrepreneurial idea that they have researched (does not have to be fashion related). In today's class, someone presented their finding - the world's first interactive shoppable video - and it was by far one of the coolest and most revolutionizing entrepreneurial ideas I have seen to date. I can count on both hands the number of times I have seen a music video and envied/wondered what the people featured were wearing. Or have watched an interview/TV episode online and wondered what the characters were wearing (this happened most recently while watching the season finale of Girls - who is Marnie's green dress by?!). By integrating a handy tool like this into videos as they stream, consumers can view and purchase in real time what they like, and be just like their favourite celeb or TV character. From the viewpoint of a major brand or big box retailer, this idea is $$$HUGE$$$. Imagine the possibilities!
Below, I have embedded the link directly from the SSENSE website so that you can see the actual interactive video for yourself. What do you think?

PS. Have I ever mentioned how much I absolutely love SSENSE?? Readers beware - don't go on this website if you're severely fashion obsessed. It may make your wallets that much emptier (but ohhh so worth it!)
